The Right Place For You

St. Joe's clinic staff, residents, and faculty members enjoy getting to know one another while playing in a summer softball league

Choosing the right residency program is one of the critical decisions you will make related to your medical career. The interview process can be daunting, and the application process overwhelming.

We, the faculty, residents, and staff at St. Joseph's Family Medicine Residency Program, believe that making a good match is essential to your happiness and to our program's continued strength and good reputation. We seek residents who are excited to train in an urban setting and are dedicated to the ideals of family medicine. During the recruitment season, we invite applicants who interview with us to various informal dinners to get better acquainted with residents and faculty in a relaxed setting. This will allow you to interact with us before you make your final Match list.

In addition, if you wish to make a second visit, we can easily arrange to have you shadow a resident in clinic or at the hospital for either a half or a full day. Contact our program administrator, Faith Norstrud, 651-223-7323, fnorstrud@umphysicians.umn.edu, to make arrangements.

We wish you the best as you look forward with anticipation and excitement to residency. We welcome your consideration of St. Joseph's Family Medicine Residency Program as the right place for you.
