Benefits

North Memorial Health Care Family Medicine resident benefits are provided through the University of Minnesota Department of Family Medicine and Community Health.

Benefits Highlights

Parental-Newborn Elective
Available to first- through third-year residents at North Memorial. The parental-newborn elective may be taken by male or female residents who have a child born to them during their residency training and must be completed within one year of the baby's birth. The purpose of this elective experience is to augment the practical education one naturally receives in giving birth and caring for a newborn with a more structured academic experience. For more information, see our program manual.

Continuing Medical Education/Technology Fund
Residents qualify for $1000 per year to use toward educational conferences, textbooks, computer, and software expenses. Discounts on computers and software are available through the University of Minnesota.

Moving Expense Reimbursement
Residents will be reimbursed up to $1000 for moving expenses such as mileage, packing materials, and moving truck rental.
