Community

St. Louis Park is a thriving community of nearly 50,000 people and is located less than five miles from downtown Minneapolis. As a first-ring suburb of Minneapolis, it offers convenient access to any part of the Twin Cities. Its population is both ethnically and socioeconomically diverse. There is a strong sense of community here. St. Louis Park was named one of the America's Promise 100 Best Communities for Young People in 2005 and is the birthplace of the Children First initiative.

As part of the St. Louis Park community, the residency is involved in many efforts to improve the availability and quality of health care for those in need.

  • Central Clinic, a free walk-in clinic in St. Louis Park for children and teens, is staffed by our third-year residents.
  • No Shots, No School is a local school district vaccination program.
  • The Children's Reading Initiative gives a free book to a child having an office visit at Creekside.
  • St. Mary's Health Clinics provides free patient care at Creekside and helps families obtain medical insurance.
  • Meadowbrook Collaborative has as its mission to enhance the self-direction of Meadowbrook residents toward the betterment of their lives in the areas of health, education, and safety. The residency clinic provides the key contact for the health of this diversely-populated multi-family housing neighborhood of 1200 people located just across the street.

The Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul offer a wealth of cultural opportunities, sports teams, restaurants, and parks. Here's a flavor of what's available:
