He has been PI/site-PI on many NIH-funded studies, including ACCORD, TRANSLATE, and the creation of a national electronic Primary Care Research Network (ePCRN). He currently directs the AHRQ PBRN Resource Center. Peterson is a fellow of AAFP and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh; a diplomate of ABFM; and an affiliate fellow of the University of Minnesota Institute for Health Informatics.
