First Year Second and Third Years Schedule In-house call: First six months with second- or third-year resident - One Friday overnight shift 5 pm–7:30 am (with some rounding to follow)
- One Saturday 24-hour shift 8 am–7:30 am (with some rounding to follow)
- One Sunday shift 7:30 am-10 pm
In-house call: Last six months - Four weekend call shifts (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday)
Some rotations have their own call schedule for which approximate frequency varies: Call Responsibilities - Answering clinic patient phone calls
- Caring for inpatients from the clinic
- Working up all clinic admissions from the ER
- Participating in the medical emergency team, which allows residents to learn rapid assessments and interventions as part of a team (including critical care nurses, RT, and lab)
