Medical Students
The University of Minnesota Mankato Family Medicine Residency, in adherence with the policies and procedures of the Immanuel St. Joseph's-Mayo Health System (ISJ), supports and provides medical student training at ISJ. To ensure and preserve excellent, high quality training experiences for both family medicine residents and medical students, and in honoring current educational agreements and affiliations with the University of Minnesota and Des Moines University medical schools, the Mankato Family Medicine Residency has the right and responsibility to limit the capacity and scope of medical student training at ISJ. As such, we highly recommend that all training occurring at ISJ be coordinated through our residency coordinator, Wendy Nowak, and director of medical student education, Carroll Galvin, MD. Students will be required to complete a clerkship request application and review or complete the following ISJ job shadow documents: - mutual respect policy
- dress code policy
- emergency codes
- job shadow policy
- hand hygiene policy
- work force confidentiality
Selection of students will be prioritized by current educational and affiliation agreements as well as available capacity and resources. Attempts will be made to accommodate as many requests as possible. Contact Us Wendy Nowak, 507-385-6572 or nowak.wendy@mayo.edu
